Last week we were featured by Evening Standard in their article about ‘art turning bottles in to collectors items’ and this got us thinking. OF COURSE the gin is the most important thing, but actually, the bottling and branding is also right up there, and our bottle has a story all of it’s own to tell, that not many of you will know about…
From day one, we have worked really closely with Simon, the Creative Director at DesignPatch, to bring our bottle and branding to life.
Bespoke handwritten font - Organic through and through, just like our gin – Did we mention, it’s organic?
When it came to designing the bottle, we quickly decided that the bottle itself (and not simply a label) needed to be the focus, it had to represent the organic story and the organic ingredients of our gin.
The green colour takes inspiration from the key ingredient, the Dill herb, and a handwritten font was created specifically for the Fatty’s Organic Gin logo.
Even the production and execution of the design had to represent the product; the bottle is sprayed in organic ink which is much kinder to the environment and is waxed dipped by hand to seal, so no two bottles are the same.
Every element represents the product and most importantly the brand ethos; organic, handmade, unique.
We wanted to create a bottle design that maintains being organic at its core, reflects the quality of the product and stands out on the shelf… hopefully you will agree, that’s exactly what we have achieved!
